Religion is deemed to follow similar patterns to that of a virus, in that it requires a host to reproduce and spread its self to others and it cannot survive with out one. There are many different strands all competing for hosts.
Although the particular strand depicted here destroys its host’s cells during its reproductive cycle, not all strands are considered pathogenic to a person’s health; many exist in a symbiotic relationship.
The virus is considered to be loosely hereditary, but many offspring escape infection and build up a natural immunity via a mechanism which is yet unknown. This immunity can be broken down quite suddenly during times of great stress or trauma.
In many cases those infected to a high degree congregate in large groups on specific time cycles and often send individuals to infect others, with varying rates of success.
If religion is a virus, then Atheism is an epidemic!

Chrisianity's not just a religion like the others, but a relationship with the One who created us through His love, even died for us on the cross, taking away our sins; and proving He's God by His resurrection! [link]
Hey thats cool. I did life science there for a while but i dont remember that. The similarity isnt deliborate. just chance. I hope you're not Suggesting that because a protien is shaped like a cross its proof of God or some other higher power.
You're born without any notion of god or religion. religion is aquired. Being nonreligious is your default state of being.
Really though it's not a bad comparison, rather accurate in ways as you have the religious fanatics and zealots that act as ways to try and convert other religions and or destroy them.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
